Shalome Orton: Executive Director

Shalome became Executive Director in September 2018.  Shalome has a degree in Human Development and Family Studies from the University of Utah. Go Utes!   Shalome has worked with children for over twenty-five years! She spent many years working in the field of Early Childhood and is excited to now be working with school age children.  She is passionate about inclusion, acceptance and the individual success of every child.

Shalome enjoys the diversity of the children at the Sandy Club and the relationships she gets to build with them and their families.  She hopes to continue the legacy of the founder of the club by loving every child, giving them the tools they need to be successful, supporting families, and giving children a safe and creative environment for them to thrive in after school.

Shalome has three adult children, two adorable dogs and a husband of almost 28 years!  She loves gardening, reading, camping and watching super-hero movies.

Dayana Diaz: Assistant Director

Dayana began working at The Sandy Club as the Assistant Director in September of 2023. Prior to her work as the Assistant Director, Dayana worked as a Mentor to the children and as the Administrative Assistant here at the club. Dayana has a Bachelors of Science Degree in Psychology with a minor in Sociology from the University of Utah. 

Dayana enjoys working at the Club because she loves working with children and getting to know each and every one of them as well as their families. Dayana hopes to be a great resource to the children and their families helping in any way she can with whatever it is they may need. She hopes to assist in making the club a place where children who attend never want to go home because it is a place they love to be.  

In her free time, Dayana enjoys traveling, watching movies of all types of genres, and spending time with her family and close friends. 

Isabel Roman: Office Assistant

Isabel began working at The Sandy Club as the Administrative Assistant in September of 2023. Prior to her work as Administrative Assistant, Isabel worked as a Mentor with the children here at the Sandy Club. Isabel is currently attending Salt Lake Community College and is pursuing a degree in Biology. 

Isabel enjoys working at the Club because she enjoys seeing the children grow and learn everyday. She hopes to build long lasting relationships with the children and their families. 

During her free time, Isabel enjoys reading, traveling, cooking, and spending time with her son and close family.

Sabrina Saini, CSW, Therapist WHoleKids

Sabrina is a passionate professional dedicated to the well-being and development of children and families. With a Bachelor of Science degree in Human Development and Family Studies, with an emphasis on Child Life, and a minor in Psychology from the University of Utah, she has gained a strong foundation in understanding the intricacies of child development and the importance of nurturing family environments. Building upon her undergraduate education, she pursued a master’s degree in Social Work, which has equipped her with advanced knowledge and skills in providing comprehensive support to individuals and families in need. Her genuine love for working with children and their families fuels her drive to make a positive impact on their lives. Throughout her academic journey and professional experiences, she has developed a keen interest in addressing trauma, anxiety, and depression in children. By utilizing evidence-based approaches and a compassionate approach, she strives to create a safe and supportive environment where children can heal, grow, and thrive. Recognizing the vital role that families play in children’s lives, she is committed to working collaboratively with parents, guardians, and other caregivers to promote holistic development and strengthen family dynamics. She believes in the power of teamwork and effective communication to foster resilience and create lasting positive change. She has a genuine passion for her work and a deep understanding of the challenges faced by children and families, she is dedicated to providing the highest level of care and support. She is excited to continue her professional journey, making a meaningful difference in the lives of those she serves. In her spare time Sabrina loves to read, spend time in the backyard with her two German shepherds, and her husband. Her hobbies are cycling and horseback riding.
