Shalome Orton
Executive Director
Shalome became Executive Director of Sandy Kids Club in 2018. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Human Development and Family Studies from the University of Utah and has more than 25 years of experience working with children and families.
Before coming to the Club, Shalome spent many years working in early childhood programs and services. She enjoys working with school-age children and building relationships with the kids and families who are part of Sandy Kids Club.
Shalome is committed to making sure children have a safe place where they feel welcomed and supported. She hopes to continue the legacy of the Club’s founder by caring for every child, supporting families, and giving kids opportunities and tools that help them learn, grow, and succeed.
Outside of the Club, Shalome enjoys gardening, reading, camping, spending time with her family and dogs, and watching superhero movies. And, as a University of Utah graduate—Go Utes!
Dayana Diaz
Assistant Director
Dayana joined Sandy Kids Club as a Mentor before moving into the role of Administrative Assistant and, in September 2023, becoming Assistant Director. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology with a minor in Sociology from the University of Utah.
Dayana loves getting to know the children who attend the Club and building relationships with their families. She strives to be a resource for both kids and parents and to help make Sandy Kids Club a place where children feel safe, supported, and excited to come each day.
Outside of work, Dayana enjoys traveling, watching movies, and spending time with her family and close friends.
Isabel Roman
Office Assistant
Isabel began working with children at Sandy Kids Club as a Mentor before moving into an administrative role in September 2023. She is currently attending Salt Lake Community College and pursuing a degree in Biology.
Isabel enjoys watching the children at the Club learn and grow and values the relationships she builds with kids and their families.
In her free time, Isabel enjoys reading, traveling, cooking, and spending time with her son and family.
