Shalome became Executive Director in September 2018. Shalome has a degree in Human Development and Family Studies from the University of Utah. Go Utes! Shalome has worked with children for over twenty-five years! She spent many years working in the field of Early Childhood and is excited to now be working with school age children. She is passionate about inclusion, acceptance and the individual success of every child.
Shalome enjoys the diversity of the children at the Sandy Club and the relationships she gets to build with them and their families. She hopes to continue the legacy of the founder of the club by loving every child, giving them the tools they need to be successful, supporting families, and giving children a safe and creative environment for them to thrive in after school.
Shalome has three adult children, two adorable dogs and a husband of almost 28 years! She loves gardening, reading, camping and watching super-hero movies.
Joshua began working at The Sandy Club as the Assistant Director in April 2018. Joshua has a Masters Degree in Education from Westminster College (2018) and a Bachelors Degree in Philosophy/Psychology from Utah Valley University (2015). Joshua has previously worked for Granite School District, Utah Valley University, and Rise Services Inc. helping students and youth with special needs succeed in school and the workplace.
Joshua enjoys working at The Sandy Club because of the kids–they are his greatest stress and joy! Joshua hopes that he can be a positive influence for the kids and help them learn to self-manage, learn to enjoy education, and create meaningful memories that will influence them for years to come.
Joshua and his wife have a daughter and a dog. In his spare time, Joshua enjoys watching and playing hockey, visiting new restaurants, and taking much needed naps.
Jazmine began working at The Sandy Club as the Office Assistant in July 2018. Prior to her work as the Office Assistant, Jazmine worked as the Club custodian (2015), Kids Room Staff (2016), and Teen Room Staff (2017). Jazmine currently attends Salt Lake Community College and is pursuing a degree in social work and family studies.
Jazmine enjoys working at the Club because she sees it as a way to give back for the experiences she had when she attended the Club. She truly enjoys working with the kids and getting to know each and every one of them! Jazmine hopes to be a great resource to the kids–she just wants to help in anyway she can so the kids can become the wonderful people they are meant to be.
In her free time, Jazmine enjoys traveling to new places and trying local cuisines. Jazmine also enjoys spending time with her close friends and listening to a variety of hip-hop and pop music.
