As shopping season commences, The Sandy Club has partnered with Amazon Smile to raise funds for the Club. With each purchase you make on Amazon.com, Amazon will donate a portion of your purchase to the club.
Visit smile.amazon.com and choose “The Sandy Club A Safe Place for Boys and Girls” to help out the Club while you shop this holiday season.
As the holidays approach, we as the staff and administration of The Sandy Club felt it was good to give our kids a chance for reflection and fun! So, with the wonderful help of Costco, we were able to give pie and whipped cream to all the kids and have a magician, the wonderful Lance Nielsen, come perform for the kids! Our kids also took some time to write down what they are thankful for. What a special day it was to hear the kids laugh, play, and enjoy this wonderful time of year. We hope you take time to reflect on what you are thankful for as Thanksgiving come this week.
With the holidays coming, The Sandy Club, “A Safe Place for Boys and Girls” becomes a focal point for families in the area who need assistance. This time of year also leads to a HUGE influx of individuals and groups who want to help and donate items.
This year, we are looking for:
- *Brand New* Winter Coats (XS-L)
- Underwear (Unisex XS-M)
- Socks (Unisex XS-L)
- *Brand New* Sweatpants and Sweatshirts (All sizes)
We cannot accept used clothing–however, we can refer you to groups and organizations that can use such donations.
We are SO grateful for the love and support we receive this time of year. Thank you and have a wonderful Holiday Season!
Congratulations to our November Member of the Month, Sherlyn Gomez! Sherlyn is 8 years old and attends Sandy Elementary, where her favorite subject is Art. When Sherlyn grows up she wants to become a Gymnast. What Sherlyn likes most about herself is that she is friendly to everyone. When asked why she thought she was voted Member of the Month she replied, “my friends like me.” Sherlyn has been a member for 2 years; in that time, she has learned how to play different board games. When we asked Sherlyn what she liked to do at The Sandy Club, she said, “going outside with her friends.” If Sherlyn had one wish she would get a bunch of slime. Congratulations once again Sherlyn! We are so proud of you!!
Thursday was a special day at The Sandy Club, “A Safe Place for Boys and Girls” as Sandy City’s Mayor Bradburn came to visit! Mayor Bradburn came to visit with the kids and announce his “No-Shave November” fundraiser—which will benefit The Sandy Club. Mayor Bradburn spoke to the kids and then had a professional shave to make sure his beard will come in perfectly! We are so grateful for his help! You can follow Mayor Bradburn on Facebook.
We’ve finally gone and done it–we’re redesigning our website. Hopefully this website will serve as a great resource for the youth who attend our program, their families, and the greater Sandy City community!
In this website you will find announcement about Club activities, Youth of the Month, updated calendars, and various exciting going-on’s at The Sandy Club.
